Mindfulness Meditation can help restore peace in many different ways. Just some of these are:

  • Reducing blood pressure Relaxing body and mind
  • Reducing anxiety and stress levels
  • Aiding sleep Giving inner peace
  • Bringing a sense of happiness and wholeness
  • Helps with Depression
  • Increased ability to concentrate
  • Increased confidence

Whatever the reason for doing it, Mindfulness meditation is a beneficial practice that takes one away from the hustle and bustle
of an often too busy world to find peace and wholeness.

Mindfulness Meditation has had great reviews and can be life changing. One review in the Guardian in 2011 claimed that
people seem less prone to their usual bouts of depression once they start practising Mindfulness Meditation.

A claim in Psychology Today stated: “Cultivating mindfulness is the key to overcoming suffering and recognising natural wisdom: both our own and others”.

Mindful Meditation aims to restore homeostasis, peace and well-being. The word meditation comes from the Latin ‘meditation’, which translates = “to think, to contemplate or to ponder”.

Mindfulness can be done alone or in a class setting but both are optimal. Unlike a lot of meditation which is about clearing the mind, Mindfulness Meditation is about focusing on the here and now; often on the rhythm of breathing or the placing of the soles of your feet in walking.

As you focus on your breathing or your foot work your mind will start to wander (as it does) out of control with 100 thoughts, Mindfulness Meditation is about bringing your thoughts back to the here and now with the focus on the breathing or whatever the here and now is that you are focusing on. You will also learn to gain control of negative thoughts, helping you to see more clearly and enabling you to let go of negative bad thoughts and even find out where they are coming from.
